Feds Approve First State Health Exchanges

The Department of Health and Human Services provided conditional approval for the state-run health insurance exchanges proposed by Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Oregon and Washington, the Hartford Courant reports.

“So far, 14 states and Washington D.C. have declared that they want to operate state-based health exchanges, including the six that were approved. The states approved Monday were earlier than other states in submitting their applications.”

State Refor(u)m maps the status of the health insurance exchange in each state.
