Here are the economic data highlights for this week, along with consensus predictions, via Bill McBride.
Wednesday, January 2: “10:00 AM ET: ISM Manufacturing Index for December… The consensus is for PMI to increase to 50.5. (above 50 is expansion)… 2:00 PM: FOMC Minutes for Meeting of December 11-12, 2012. This will provide a little more details on the decision of the Fed to set thresholds for inflation and the unemployment rate.”
Thursday, January 3: “8:15 AM: The ADP Employment Report for December. This report is for private payrolls only (no government). The consensus is for 150,000 payroll jobs added in December.”
Friday, January 4: “8:30 AM: Employment Report for December. The consensus is for an increase of 157,000 non-farm payroll jobs in December; there were 146,000 jobs added in November. The consensus is for the unemployment rate to increase to 7.8% in December, up from 7.7% in November.”
