Christie Supports Medicaid Expansion

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) voiced his support for expanding Medicaid under President Obama’s health care reform law, the New Jersey Star-Ledger reports, which “will open the program to more than 300,000 New Jerseyans.”
“The move will save the state about $227 million in the first six months of next year, but in a nod to Republicans who oppose the federal health care overhaul, Christie stressed nothing is set in stone and reminded them he twice vetoed health exchanges.”
Sarah Kliff: “Urban Institute analysts expect that the state will bring in $15 billion, while spending $1.4 billion of its own funds, should it participate in the expansion.”
