• I’ve been saying this since 2009. A free market only works if both sides are free to walk away from the deal. If you have the choice of ‘buy this or you will die,
    then you’re not in a free market.

    Doctors have a similar problem. If you walk into a hospital, they have to treat you, whether you can afford to pay them or not. So they’re not free to walk away from the deal, either.
    How can you possibly have a free market under those conditions?

    Without competition, there is no free market and thus no incentive to improve anything.
