Uninsured Rate Holds Steady at 13.4%

Gallup: “The uninsured rate for U.S. adults appears to be leveling off since the open enrollment period for buying health insurance coverage through the marketplace ended in mid-April. The uninsured rate so far in the second quarter of 2014 is 13.4%, with the rate in April and May as individual months also averaging 13.4%, respectively.”

The sharpest declines since the fourth quarter of 2013 have been among blacks (from 17.6% to 14.7%) and Hispanics (from 37% to 33.1%).

If you have medicaid, you dont have insurance unless you go to a hospital. Most doctors will not accept this garbage

    • rob

      That is absolutely incorrect.

      Totally false.

I am a physician in a non-medicaid expansion state and my practice of 35 docs takes medicaid without any issues.

THE REPUBLICANS AND THE DEMOCRATS HAVE FAILED THE MORE THAN 2.6 MILLION UNEMPLOYED FAMILIES WITHOUT AN EXTENSION OF UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS SINCE LATE LAST DECEMBER. OVER THE PAST FIVE AND A HALF MONTHS, MANY FAMILIES HAVE FACED EVICTIONS, HOME FORECLOSURES, BANKRUPTCY, AND HOMELESSNESS, WHILE THE SENATE HOLDS THE EXTENSION BILL HOSTAGE, REFUSING TO PASS THE BILL. ALTHOUGH BILLIONS HAVE BEEN RECENTLY APPROVED FOR THE UKRAINE, THE REPUBLICANS FEEL THAT THESE AMERICAN FAMILIES DON’T DESERVE THE HELP. THEY’VE CALLED THESE WORKERS “LAZY” AND HAVE BLAMED THEM FOR THEIR CIRUMSTANCE. THESE POLITICIANS HAVE SHOWN LITTLE COMPASSION AND COMMON DECENCY TOWARDS THESE FAMILIES IN DIRE FINANCIAL NEED. WE NEED TO VOTE THESE CAREER POLITICIANS OUT OF OFFICE
